Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

We are in the process of compiling a list of people who would like to take Communion occasionally to homebound parishioners on Sunday mornings after a Mass.  If you are interested in volunteering for this ministry please contact Lynette at the parish office @ 440-237-6760 or rectory@saint-albert.org.  Thank you.

Local Guidelines (Revised April 2011)

Schedule for December 2011 to March 2012

The following new procedures went into effect on Easter Sunday 2011.

  1. The sign-in sheets are now located at the credence table, instead of in the sacristy.

  2. Please arrive 20 minutes before Mass is to start, and consider volunteering to be a greeter at the Masses you are scheduled.

  3. Your name will no longer be pre-printed on the sign-in sheets.  Each place a minister distributes Communion is listed on the sign-in sheet.  Before Mass begins, please print your name by the next un-assigned location.  Click here for example.

  4. Immediately after you exchange a Sign-of-Peace, form a line behind the altar boys.  Do not wait until the Lamb-of-God prayer begins.

  5. Move to the altar as soon as the priest has received the Body of Christ.  Do not wait until the he sets the Chalice down.

  6. The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will no longer receive the Blood of Christ.

  7. Immediately upon receipt of the ciborium, leave the altar walking toward the Blessed Virgin Mary statue, and proceed to your self-assigned station.  When you reach your station, turn and face the altar.  When the priest celebrant begins to distribute Holy Communion, turn and begin likewise.

  8. Please remember to stand back with your heels up against altar step, and not out in the aisle.  The ministers stationed in the back of the main aisle should stand between the last pew, and not in the aisle.  The ministers stationed near the pillars should stand in the aisle between the pillar and the last pew.  Ministers stationed at the Chapel should walk up all steps.
